Let me begin today by telling you that if you are a new reader too my blog, if you found this through Facebook or you just stumbled in here, I am just a simple “country boy” saved by the Wonderful Grace of GOD!
I hated English in school and if you keep reading you will see in print that I barely did enough too get by. My writings are mostly what God inspires. Sometimes I will post personal stuff.
So whether you are a new reader or have been with me a while I ask that you take all mistakes for love (the way I write, not what God inspires) and I pray that something I write (with all glory going to GOD) will be a blessing too you.
In my last post I asked what I though would be a simple question. That question was: What does Easter mean to you?
Is Easter one of two Sunday’s you attend church? My father – in – law says that you are a C and E Christian, meaning you only attend church on Christmas and Easter. Yes I do expect a bigger crowd at church this Sunday. That is sad. The world ought too be hungry enough that there is standing room only in the churches today, not just on Christmas and Easter.
I received one comment with one answer from a blogging friend and Brother in Christ. Here is what he had too say: “Well Brent, knowing what Christmas means to me, it will probably not surprise you that Easter means even less (as the paganistic, worldly holiday that it is, and I'm not going there at this time). But I'm sure you know what the Resurrection means to me.”
I happen too agree with what he has to say. Christmas as well as Easter has become too commercialized. The world wants Christ out of both holidays. Both now lean more toward pagan rituals. Should we celebrate? I say yes, but not for the reasons you think.
Christmas was never celebrated in the bible as a holiday with the exchange of gifts. The Easter bunny was not in the tomb with Jesus on the day the stone was rolled away carrying his basket full of goodies.
Peter and James did not stop to pick up brightly colored eggs and chocolate bunnies as they ran to the tomb to see if Jesus was still there.
Folks I do not want too burst your little bubble, but you must see! We celebrate Christmas, because it marks the birth of our Lord to this world. We Celebrate Easter because it marks the death, burial and resurrection for the remission of our sins, so we ALL will have the opportunity too be saved from death, hell and the grave.
Both Christmas (the day of Jesus’ “Earthly” birth too a “virgin” woman) and Easter (the day death was defeated) must be taken for what they represent, not what they have become. We must thank and praise God for sending His Son to a cruel world, where He was born, wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed in a manger. HE fulfilled scripture by entering the world this way. HE fulfilled scripture by dieing and being raised again.
I leave you today with this verse from John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. Scripture is still being fulfilled as we draw toward the end of life as we know it here. One day this verse will be fulfilled. How do I know? Through faith believing. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. This verse is found in Timothy.
God Bless!

I hope you were able to attend our Easter program, if you were not I hope you remembered us in prayer.
I usually do not want too be involved in any type of play. I am one that likes to set back, watch and enjoy.
I remember we put this play on back in the '80's, during my teen years. I was not in the play, but I remember it well. I remember how powerful I thought it was.
I asked during the rehearsals of our Christmas play if anyone else remembered the Easter play, and I quickly found out that with all of the younger people in the church that only the adults remembered.
One thing led to another and we decided too try and put it on again.
I really enjoyed being a part of this a generation later. I was truly blessed, not because of being in the play, but because of the message that was in the play. I think everyone who was involved in the play felt the same way I do.
I must tell you THE BLESSINGS OF GOD ARE WONDERFUL! I pray everyone in attendance received a wonderful blessing. I pray that everyone who prayed for us received a wonderful blessing.
I am going too close this post today with a question and I really want you to think about it and answer carefully: What does Easter mean to you? Note: Easter Bunnies need not answer.

Sorry it has been a while sense I have been able to make a post. This post is going too be a short one.
Hopefully within a couple of weeks I will be able too get back on a regular blogging schedule.
Today I want too invite anyone in the Sparta Tennessee area to our Easter Program Sunday night. This post is mostly for my "facebook" friends, however I wish it were where some of my regular readers lived close enough to make it.
In rehearsals I have been able too feel the power of the Holy Spirit in this play and I pray God lets it come through more powerful Sunday night too all who are there. Please join me in praying for the people in the play and most importantly that God will pour His blessings out.
So I am going to close this post with a copy of Spring Hill's official invitation that I sent to our sister churches. May God Bless!
Spring Hill the

We will have a covered dish dinner after the last play.

Continuing with Titus chapter two:
Yesterday we covered verse one which spoke of sound doctrine. Today we pickup with verse two.
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Verse one tells us to speak the things which become sound doctrine. Verse two is continuing with the instruction on how Christians should act. If you have not caught on yet chapter two deals with instructions for our behavior.
So verse two is saying that “because of sound doctrine” the aged men are too be sober, grave, temperate. Because of sound doctrine we are sound in faith, because of sound doctrine we have charity which is love. Because of sound doctrine we have patience (I am still waiting on my faith too work patience… can’t get here quick enough).
Ladies I’m not going too leave you out. Look at verses three, four and five: 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
The same thing that has applied so far in this chapter still applies. Because of sound doctrine the aged woman’s behavior should become holiness. Sound doctrine will teach you to not be false accusers, not given too much wine and to teach good things. Who are the women too teach? Look at verses four and five. The older women are to teach the younger women. What are they to teach? They are to teach them to be sober, to love their husbands (I do not think this is being taught enough) they are to teach them too love their children, to be discreet, chaste.
